Just because the weather is getting better there is no reason to forget that we are all mortal. Last year, 2016, we raised the problem regarding “Water Safety” no less than five times. February, May, June, August and September. This year, January, May and again now.
We are wondering how many times it takes for people to be told that someone in their family, or members of other families will not be coming home as they’ve had an accident involving water. The season has started, one boy has already died at a reservoir on 20th June and another at a lake on 21st June, both reported in the national media - their parents have been placed in this position.
Is anyone taking water safety seriously?
We all hope that this will never happen, but preparation for something that will never happen, is better than just wishing we had.
We offer a Water Safety talk, aimed at children or parents - both are better. This can be delivered through schools, youth groups, D of E groups, walking groups etc. Ask your group, to arrange a talk or get in touch so that those close to you, family and friends, can receive this important information. This will help you to be more prepared to enjoy being near water.
Please use our Contact Us page to start finding out about Water Safety. Help yourself and others - don’t become someone who causes the problem, or someone who has to deal with the problem.
